There may or may not be snow on the ground, but there will definitely be a Christmas atmosphere for the first “A Copperheads Christmas” scheduled for Tuesday, Dec. 3 at McCrary Park. The event will take place from 5:30-8:30 p.m.
The Asheboro Copperheads have teamed with Toys for Tots and the Christian United Outreach Center to present a fun-filled evening with Christmas carols, hot chocolate, face painting, gift ideas and plenty more, including a visit from Santa Claus.
“Christmas is the most magical time of the year, one filled with fun, fellowship, joy and that very special feeling,” Copperheads General Manager Dennis Garcia said. “We are hoping to bring a little more of all those things to people that night at McCrary Park.”
The highlight will be a visit from Santa Claus, who will be on hand to hear all the Christmas wishes from boys and girls.
The admission fee is just one canned good, which will be donated to the Christian United Outreach Center. The Copperheads will also be collecting new, unwrapped toys for Toys For Tots and each person who donates a toy will be entered in to a drawing to win Copperheads tickets, apparel and other prizes.
Other highlights include a portable firepit, where people can make S’mores, a souvenir stand where people can purchase Copperheads T-shirts, hats, polos and other gift items and visits from Buddy the Elf, The Grinch and Asheboro’s own Fang.
“Toys for Tots and the CUOC are two wonderful organizations which are really in demand this time of year,” Garcia said. “Anything that we can do to help these organizations, we will certainly do.”
